Find a Certified Emissions Repair Facility
You may always have your vehicle repaired at a facility of your choice, or you may make the repairs yourself.
However, the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) highly recommends that you have the repairs performed at a Certified Emissions Repair Facility (CERF).
These facilities employ a minimum number of certified, professional automotive technicians who have successfully completed required training programs devoted specifically to the repair of emissions problems. Most importantly, only repairs performed at a CERF are eligible to be applied towards a cost waiver.
You can search for a Repair Facility using your Zip code, or the name of the city nearest you.
The resulting map will show open Repair Facilities for the Visit Date selected; circles with a number in the center indicate that number of Repair Facilities, just click on the circle to zoom in.
Once you locate the test center of your choice, you can click on the map marker to see the address information, or look for the test center name in the list below the map.
You can also use the list to sort or filter any of the search results, including Distance (measured from the center of your search entry, either Zip or city name).

“*Not yet rated” means that not enough repairs have occurred to calculate this facility’s repair effectiveness rating. In accordance with section 14-164c-16a of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, at least twenty (20) vehicles must have been repaired by the facility before computing the success rate. The success rate of each facility is calculated by using data captured for the last twenty (20) inspections performed.
